I really enjoyed this 2-day course, gaining detailed insight into the role and activities of a junior CTA. The instructor was knowledgeable, engaging, and managed the course well ensuring a good balance of activities, homework, and direct teaching. As a Sponsor, I have managed to apply the knowledge gained during co-monitoring visits and it has provided really useful insights on our CRO operational activity.

This course was clear, educational and practically applicable. Through the interactivity with the trainers and my peers, I got a partially an ‘official confirmation’ of my CRA daily practices and I gained new knowledge to help me start-up and monitor trials with medical devices in future.

I liked the clear detailed explanation of terms and the summaries at the end of each chapter. The eLearning course gives a much broader insight into someone who is involved in the clinical trials sector and understand the responsibility/accountability of all concerned parties in clinical studies.

Good mix of theory and practice. The practical course with many workshops and very practical, realistic case studies exceeded my expectations. On the one hand, the case studies enabled me to exchange ideas with other CRAs (e.g. how do they act in such situations, what could I possibly improve in such cases…) and, on the other hand, it was also positive feedback for me on how I have handled similar situations so far. In my opinion, the course is most beneficial if you already have at least 2 years of professional experience as a CRA.

I expanded my knowledge as a CRA to achieve goals together with the sites without being the annoying CRA. We learned how to motivate the PI’s to increase patient recruitment, which I will definitely use in practice. We also discussed a lot of ICF issues, and how they should be resolved. A lot of sites keep making mistakes in obtaining the informed consent from the patients, and I am definitely going to explain this process more to the investigators and their site staff, as this is very important in clinical trials and PI’s don’t always realize they are doing something wrong, as they always handle to treat the patients as good as possible. I think it’s very educational to have different people at the training with different jobs and experiences. For this reason, we received several examples from several perspectives.

I have learned the latest information regarding what is expected from the work of Senior CRAs, including the latest information on risk-based monitoring and how this should be applied. I have learned more about non-compliance as well. It was very useful to share experiences with the other attendees and also the experience of the trainer is very good! Good content of the course, a combination of theory and workshops is very good and makes the course interactive. Experience of the trainer is very good.

Thus being a webinar, there was a good interaction with the trainer and other attendees and the positive attitude of the trainer, open for any questions etc. Jolanda is really experienced trainer and it was so much fun to talk/ interact with everyone. It was easier to learn and to keep the information in my head.

As my background is in fundamental research, I didn’t know a lot about the career possibilities in clinical research. I wanted to get a better understanding where I could apply my skills in this area. In addition to attending the ECCRT course “Orienting your career in Clinical Research”, I decided to take the ECCRT career coaching. This helped me to get a better overview of the roles and functions in the area of clinical development and what skills those positions require.Together with me coach – Virginie Hamtiaux – we identified what my own strengths are and how to link them to a possible career in the pharma industry. Virginie was able to adapt each coaching session to my own situation to maximise the value for me. Week after week, I became stronger and my confidence grew in my potential to become a great clinical research professional. Thanks a lot Virginie and ECCRT.

I’m a new study nurse and this course explained clearly the process of a clinical trial (documents, what to do, when to do, etc.…). I learned a lot of things, like that I should be well prepared for monitoring (since I am a study nurse and not a CRA) and what are the objectives, views and the job of a CRA.
