Virginie Hamtiaux obtained her degree in Bioengineering from the UCLouvain, Belgium in 1993. During years 1994 and 1995 she worked as pharmaceutical sales representative for Tilman laboratory, Belgium. Between 1996 and 1999 she was responsible for the microbiology unit of a quality control laboratory, LCA in Brussels.

From 1999 until 2021 she had been working for GSK Biologicals, Belgium. She started her career within GSK as clinical trial coordinator and rapidly evolved to be the head of the global study management team. After which she was involved in the development of a quality and risk management unit for R&D departments. At the time of another company integration within GSK Biologicals, she joined medical affairs to build a medical governance structure supporting medical and commercial teams in their external engagement activities.

In addition, since 2011 Virginie was an internal business coach within GSK, delivering coaching trainings, doing individual as well as group coaching and supporting managers and leaders in their career development and business challenges.

Passionate about mentoring, coaching and people development, Virginie joined the ECCRT team in October 2021 to manage the STAR Programs. She continues to work as professional coach supporting her client in career orientation and transition.

During the years 2020-2022 Virginie has enhanced her coaching competencies by doing an executive master’s in business coaching and organisational development at UCLouvain and by successfully passing her International Coaching Federation Certification (ICF – ACC 2022 and PCC 2023 levels)
