The partnership between ECCRT & EPSA to help pharmaceutical students find a job

The European Centre for Clinical Research Training (ECCRT) has established a partnership with the European Pharmaceutical Students Association (EPSA) to support students who have recently graduated to find a job within regulatory affairs.

EPSA’s mission is to actively engage students on a professional level, bringing pharmacy, knowledge and students together while promoting personal development in the pharmaceutical field. ECCRT’s goal is to facilitate professionals to excel in their job for the benefit of the patients, by transferring implementable knowledge and skills into their day-to-day work activities.

Both parties saw this mission as a common goal to build a community of students with more technical skills and hands-on expertise to better prepare them for their future careers and professional development.

In this perspective, ECCRT is introducing the Regulatory Affairs STAR Programme to the EPSA students to enhance their CV’s and have their first work experience required to find a job. This Programme is divided into 2 parts:

  1. A full training week to get a clear overview of the roles, responsibilities and capabilities of a Regulatory Affairs Associate
  2. A one-year traineeship in 2 different pharmaceutical organisations for students to get work experience within regulatory affairs that employers look for when recruiting.

As Prof. Dr. Benedikt Van Nieuwenhove stated concerning this partnership:

“This is the perfect opportunity to work together with EPSA to allow graduated pharmacists to get access to the pharma industry, to learn on the job and to demonstrate their broad knowledge of medicinal products which matches perfectly with what regulatory affairs in pharma needs. ECCRT is excited about this opportunity to facilitate this for this group.”

Statement from the EPSA President, Josef Kunrt:

“We are delighted to have an opportunity to collaborate with ECCRT as it highly resonates with the mission we have as EPSA, to promote the personal and professional development of our students to excel in their job for the benefit of the patients, by transferring implementable knowledge and skills into their day-to-day work activities. As we see the high interest of European pharmaceutical students in clinical trials and regulatory affairs we are happily providing them opportunities for growth and eventually finding the career path of their desires”.
